Cross Country Battles at the Buff

Mustang Runners Finished Saturday’s Race with Multiple Medalist.

On Saturday, September 2, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity cross country team competed in the “Battle at the Buff” 5k and two mile race. The varsity boys raced first and coming in seventh place was senior David Roller following Roller was Senior Nicholas Catullo in 14th and Junior Jack Sukhia finishing up in 16th place. When asked about the meet Sukhia said “this was a really good meet for everyone, to come into the season this early and have so many people medal sets a great baseline for the rest of the season”. Right after the boys 3 mile race the girls lined up for their race. Sophomore Hannah Doshier finished up first for the Mustangs ladies in 14th place with a PR. Finishing up next for the Mustangs was Junior Joy Allen in 16th and Sophomore Dylan Neuner in 17th place. The Mustangs next meet will be the S&S Ram Run on September 9.

Nicholas Catullo is currently a senior and has been attending MCA since 1st grade. This will be his second year in newspaper. Catullo will be competing in cross country, soccer, and golf for his school. In his freetime, he enjoys racing in Ironman triathlons with his dad and hanging out with friends and family. His favorite memory at MCA is going to the cross country State Championship  his freshmen year. His favorite bible verse is Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
