


On Wednesday, April 29, the varsity track and field team competed in Regionals at their regional track meet. They went to Arlington Texas, and competed at the University of Arlington. Junior, Alex Villarreal jumped in the 4A Men’s Long Jump, getting second place, and 4A Men’s Triple Jump, getting third place, both and qualifying for state. Freshman, Cole Huffman, ran in the 4A Men’s 110 Meter Hurdles, getting fourth place and qualifying for state. Senior, Sadie Zbranek ran in the 4A Women’s Open 400, getting third place and qualifying for state. Junior, Alex Villarreal ran in the 4A Men’s Open 400, getting third place and qualifying for state. Freshman, Grey Royal, Sophomore, Elizabeth Thompson, and Seniors, Avery Schall, and Sadie Zbranek, all ran in the 4A Women’s 4×400, getting third place and qualifying for state. Finally, Senior, Adam Gicheru, Sophomore, Dusty Thibodeaux, and Juniors, Rydon Lansford, and Alex Villarreal, all ran in the 4A Men’s 4×400, getting second place and qualifying for state. When asked about the meet and the team’s performance, Senior, Sadie Zbranek said, “We did really amazing for our 4×400. We all prayed beforehand, to make sure we ran our best. I think we ran the most perfect 4×400 we’ve ever run before and it showed. I’m really excited to go to State with this team!” The TAPPS State Track and Field Meet will take place May 8 and 9 in Waco, Texas.
