On Friday August 25, McKinney Christian Academy held their first pep rally of the year in the SLC for the whole school in preparation for the upcoming Varsity Football game vs. UME Prep. The pep rally started with the introduction of the new spirit leaders, Seniors Jax Marshall and Austin George. They then recognized all of the fall sports including Cross Country, Football and Volleyball. Following this, Head Volleyball Coach Tara Ackmann played the volleyball hype video to get students excited for the upcoming season. Next it was time for sumo wrestling. The match-ups were Juniors Teague Spivey vs. Marc Jensen, and Seniors Nick Catullo and David Roller. The winners of these matches were Jensen and Roller. When Jensen was asked what went through his mind after his victory he responded with pride saying, “I felt nothing but victorious, you know confidence the whole way around, there was no chance I was losing that and I just did it for my stangs.” After sumo wrestling, the Mustang Varsity Cheer Team put on a show for all of the students to enjoy. To finish the pep rally out the Band concluded with the playing of the fight song with all of the students singing along.
