On Tuesday, December 5, the McKinney Christian Academy Middle School and Upper School held a showcase for the Fine Arts Department. The showcase started with art. Each artist displayed their best piece. The band and choir classes started off with a trumpet trio featuring freshman Sam Sunnucks, sophomore Dawston Swift and senior Jackson Iseneker. This was followed by the sixth grade band, who played a few Christmas songs in which they showed off what they had learned this year. After the sixth grade band played, the sixth grade choir sang a few Christmas songs, including “Still Still Still” and “Walking in a Winter Wonderland.” After that, the Middle School band played couple songs with one of them being “Latin Christmas Carol.” Following them, the Upper School band got into groups depending on their instrument, each of them played their own song. The freshmen boys also sang songs, including “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch.” Following this was the vocal ensemble, who sang songs like “My Grown Up Christmas List” and “White Winter Hymnal.” Then, senior Aiden Ewing played a solo on his electric guitar. Finally, the Upper School choir wrapped up the night with “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.”
