MCA Dresses Up for Homecoming

McKinney Christian Academy’s students participate in dress up days for Homecoming week

During the week of homecoming, the Upper School students were given the privilege to dress up according to the theme for each day. The theme for Monday was Red, White, and Blue, Tuesdays theme was Camo Day, Wednesday’s dress up day was Color Wars, where Seniors wearing white, Juniors in pink, Sophomores wearing blue, and the Freshman wearing orange, Thursday was Jersey Day, and Friday was Blue and Gold. Freshman Jude Bleecker expressed his joy about the dress up days saying, “It was fun, I enjoyed not having to wear the uniforms.” Color wars was the crowd favorite. Junior Hayden Lorenzo said that, “I thought it was fun to dress as the same color with my whole grade,” Lorenzo also enjoyed the competitive aspect of the day when he added,” The Juniors definitely won the color war.”

These dress up days were in preparation for the Homecoming dance on Saturday, September 16.

Nate Krusing has attended MCA since kindergarten and is currently in the 9th grade. This is his second year in newspaper. He enjoys time with his friends and family and loves playing sports. His favorite sports are baseball and Football. He also enjoys watching basketball. His favorite memory at MCA is winning the Middle School baseball championship. He is looking forward to being a newspaper writer and playing a role in contributing to the Mane Edition. His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Emma Ashcraft is a junior this year. She joined MCA as a freshman. This is her third year in Newspaper and she is excited to be photography editor in the class. Ashcraft is a part of a dance team at the The Dance Movement and has been dancing ever since she was little. On the weekends, she enjoys being outside and hanging out with friends. She attends Preston Trail Church and serves in the 2nd grade room every Sunday. Her favorite bible verse is Psalms 119:37. "Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word."
