Varsity Girls Soccer Competes in the Area Playoff Game

Varsity Women’s Soccer Takes Down Brentwood Christian to Advance to Regionals

On Monday, February 26, the McKinney Christian Academy women’s varsity soccer team played Brentwood Christian at home in the Area round of playoffs. This game was the first playoff game of their season. At halftime, the Mustangs were up 3-0.  Senior Ava Thompson led the team by scoring a total of four goals. Sophomores Sadie Zbranek and Tatum Barnard also scored. The Mustangs ended up winning this game with a final score of 6-0. After the game, Thompson talked about the game saying, “We all played very well and connected great passes that led us to a victory.” This game will send the team on to the next round of playoffs.

Their next game will be the regional round of playoffs and is TBD.

Tatum Barnard has been attending MCA since kindergarten and is now a sophomore. This will be her second year on the newspaper staff. Barnard will be playing soccer for her school in the winter. In her freetime, she enjoys being with her friends, family, and playing competitive soccer. Her favorite part of MCA is the Christian community she is surrounded by everyday. Barnard's favorite verse is Ephesians 2:3-5.  "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved."
