Mustangs Dance the Night Away at Prom

Seniors Katherine Abouzied and Porter Carroll were named prom king and queen.

On Saturday, April 18, McKinney Christian hosted a prom for the juniors and seniors at South Fork Ranch in Lucas, Texas. The students danced to the music played by DJ Oren Pajela. There was also a photo booth. The prom king was senior, Porter Carroll, and the prom queen was senior, Katherine Abouz. Best dressed was awarded to Senior, Dawston Swift, and senior, Aubrey Hejl. Junior, Collin Kincheloe, was asked about prom. He said, “My favorite part about prom was getting to have fun and dancing with all of my friends.” Prom was so fun for all who attended, and it was a perfect last dance for the class of 2026.

Brittany Bartoo, staff writer

Brittany Bartoo has been attending MCA since Pre-K and is now a freshman. This is her first year in newspaper, and she is excited to be a part of The Mane Edition. Brittany is currently a part of the varsity volleyball team for MCA. She is also planning to be the Varsity girls basketball and softball manager for MCA in the winter and spring. Outside of school, Brittany plays club volleyball and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Brittany’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Cana Heckadon has attended MCA since sixth grade and is currently in her sophomore year. This is her second year in newspaper, and she is excited to develop a new skill and make new friends. Cana’s primary sport is basketball; however, she also enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her favorite memory is of her trip to San Pedro, Belize, where she met many new people. Cana is looking forward to enhancing photography for The Mane Edition. With the LORD on her side, she lives by her favorite Bible verse, Luke 6:38 ” Give, and it will be given to you.”
