MCA Varsity Volleyball Sweeps Covenant

The Mustang Volleyball Team Beat Dallas Covenant in Three Sets

On Tuesday, October 3, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity volleyball team played Dallas Covenant at home. Juniors Mia Gunn and Kadence Ackmann led the team with three aces each. In the first set, the Mustangs won 25-14. They then continued with their momentum winning the last two sets 25-12. Senior Kaylin Starling led the team with nine total kills. Senior Allie Stephenson gave her thoughts about the game saying, “I thought we played really well but we did have a slow start in the beginning.” She also said, “We were able to finish out the game in three sets.”

Their next game is on Thursday, October 5, at Tyler All Saints.

Tatum Barnard has been attending MCA since kindergarten and is now a sophomore. This will be her second year on the newspaper staff. Barnard will be playing soccer for her school in the winter. In her freetime, she enjoys being with her friends, family, and playing competitive soccer. Her favorite part of MCA is the Christian community she is surrounded by everyday. Barnard's favorite verse is Ephesians 2:3-5.  "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved."
