On Thursday, January 11, the Lady Mustangs went head to head with Dallas Covenant. This highly competitive game fell into two 10 minute overtimes. In the second overtime, with only two minutes left on the clock, junior Havilah Mahadi scored the winning goal to give the Mustangs the win. When sophomore Tatum Barnard was asked what gave the girls the strength and mental fortitude to continue to push in the second overtime she said, “We ultimately kept our focus strong during the game. There were many distractions, like the wind, that could have messed up the teams dynamic.”
The Lady Mustangs play again on Thursday, January 18, at Pantego.
