Varsity Women’s Soccer Takes Down Pantego

Women’s Soccer puts on a Show as they Beat Pantego Christian 7-1

On Thursday, January 18, the McKinney Christian Academy Upper School women’s soccer team traveled to Arlington, Texas to play against the Pantego Panthers. As the game progressed, the Mustangs gave their best efforts as they were up 4-1 at halftime. The final score of the game ended up being 7-1, giving the Mustangs the win. Their leading scorer, senior Ava Thompson, scored a total of five goals. Thompson gives her thoughts on the game saying, “The team played very well together considering the circumstances of the game. We stayed focused and I am very happy with how well we played.”

Their next game is on Monday, January 22, against Colleyville Covenant.

Tatum Barnard has been attending MCA since kindergarten and is now a sophomore. This will be her second year on the newspaper staff. Barnard will be playing soccer for her school in the winter. In her freetime, she enjoys being with her friends, family, and playing competitive soccer. Her favorite part of MCA is the Christian community she is surrounded by everyday. Barnard's favorite verse is Ephesians 2:3-5.  "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved."
