Varsity Women’s Soccer Defeats Shelton

The Girl’s Varsity Soccer Team Beat Shelton 7-1 at Home

On Monday, January 29, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity women’s soccer team played at home against Shelton. As the game progressed, the Mustangs took the lead with the score being 5-1 at half. The Mustangs continued to dominate possession as they scored another two goals. Sophomore Lizzie Gutschlag shared her thoughts on the upcoming game saying, “We are looking forward to play Dallas Covenant later this week and are preparing for a solid match. Our team needs to focus connecting passes and working together more as a team.”

Their next game is on Thursday, February 1, at Dallas Covenant.

Tatum Barnard has been attending MCA since kindergarten and is now a sophomore. This will be her second year on the newspaper staff. Barnard will be playing soccer for her school in the winter. In her freetime, she enjoys being with her friends, family, and playing competitive soccer. Her favorite part of MCA is the Christian community she is surrounded by everyday. Barnard's favorite verse is Ephesians 2:3-5.  "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved."
