McKinney Christian Basketball Handles Business In Their Last District Game

On Monday, February 12, the McKinney Christian Mustangs triumphed over the Brook Hill basketball team in their final district game, fueled by junior, John Clark’s, performance with 21 points. From the tip-off, the intensity was palpable, with both teams displaying unwavering determination. Clark’s dominance on the court, combined with teamwork from his teammates, propelled the Mustangs to a hard-fought victory. Despite facing a formidable opponent, the Mustangs refused to falter under pressure, rallying around each other to secure the win. As the final buzzer sounded, the celebration erupted among players, coaches, and fans alike, marking a memorable conclusion to the regular season. With the playoffs on the horizon, the Mustangs will look to build upon this victory, drawing strength from their resilience and tenacity as they continue their pursuit of success on the basketball court. The final was 63-51.

The Mustangs next game will be their first playoff game Tuesday, February 21.

Landry Draper will be in his second year at McKinney Christian Academy, entering the eleventh grade. This is his second year in Newspaper and will be the Business Manager. Landry enjoys playing basketball and pickleball in his spare time. He also takes a light interest in pottery when he is not enjoying sports. His favorite memory is winning the 2022 TAPPS art competition with an abstract sculpture. His favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31.

Emma Ashcraft is a junior this year. She joined MCA as a freshman. This is her third year in Newspaper and she is excited to be photography editor in the class. Ashcraft is a part of a dance team at the The Dance Movement and has been dancing ever since she was little. On the weekends, she enjoys being outside and hanging out with friends. She attends Preston Trail Church and serves in the 2nd grade room every Sunday. Her favorite bible verse is Psalms 119:37. "Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word."
