Varsity Boys Baseball Plays In the Parish Panther Classic

The Mustangs go 1-2 in the Parish Panther Classic.

On Thursday, February 22, the Mustangs traveled to Parish Episcopal in Dallas to play in the Parish Panther Classic with their first game against the Mansfield Knights homeschool team. The game started off slow but was picked up when the mustangs scored their first run to tie the game 1-1. In the bottom of the 7th Senior Jax Marshall led off the inning with a single. Senior Landen Jones would soon drive him in with a walk-off double to give the Mustangs a 2-1 win. The following night the Mustangs played Parish Episcopal and after an early lead would eventually fall 2-6. On the last day the Mustangs played a district opponent Dallas Christian in a non-district game. Even though the Mustangs led the hit charts with 6 hits walks and errors would come back to bite them as the Mustangs fell 1-7 going 1-2 on the weekend.

The Mustangs face off against Fort Worth Christian next at home on Thursday, February 29.

Jax Marshall is a currently a Senior and has been attending MCA since 8th grade. Marshall is excited for his Second year in newspaper and to write new things that happen in sports this year. Outside of school Marshall loves to play baseball and spend time with his friends and family. Marshall's favorite memory at MCA was going to the baseball state championship for TAPPS his junior year. His favorite bible verse is Joshua 1:9 ''Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
