Middle School Track Meet

On Tuesday, April 23, the McKinney Christian Academy Middle School track team went to Oakridge Middle School to compete against other track teams. While at Oakridge, they competed against many other schools, including Covenant Christian, Faith Christian, and Temple Christian. Seventh graders Laura Kulhorst and Everett Neuner both placed and PR’d in the Women’s 100 meter dash, with Kulhorst getting 4th and Neuner finishing in 9th. Kulhorst also placed in the Women’s 400 meter dash, placing in 3rd. Eight grader Caleb Miller placed 2nd in the Men’s 400 meter dash and the 1600 meter race. Eighth grader Dusty Thibodeaux had a great meet, placing 2nd in the Men’s 100 meter dash and 1st in the Men’s 200 meter dash. Seventh graders Camden Holley and Sebastian Bone took up the top two spots in the Men’s 2400 meter race, with Holley placing 1st and Bone placing 2nd. Seventh grader Carrington Lansford placed 2nd in Women’s 100 meter hurdles, while seventh grader Cole Huffman placed 1st in the Men’s 100 hurdles. Lansford also placed in the Women’s 300 meter hurdles, finishing in 3rd. Huffman also placed in the Men’s 300 hurdles, coming in in 1st place. When asked about the meet, Mrs. Jackie Greenwell-Strunk said, “I’m super proud of both teams, they did amazing! I am excited to see how they compete at district next week.”

Their next track meet is next Tuesday, April 30. It is their last track meet.

Hi, I'm Aubrey Hagstrom! I am in 9th grade this year, and I have been at MCA since third grade. After school, I enjoy playing soccer and hanging out with my friends and my little brother. This is my first year in the newspaper staff, and my favorite MCA memory was my 8th grade Spring Semi-Formal.  My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 37:23-24 "The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."
