On Monday, May 13, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity baseball team faced off against Brook Hill in the State Semifinals. Senior Connor Jarzombek started on the mound for the Mustangs and allowed five hits and five runs over three innings, striking out two and walking two. Senior Caden Brown went 1-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with one run batted in. Juniors John Clark and Judd Witte as well as Jarzombek and Brown each collected one hit for the Mustangs. Unfortunately, the Mustangs could not battle back against Brook Hill as they fell short with a final score of 8-1. After the game, senior Jax Marshall shares his thoughts saying, “Even though we didn’t get the win today, I’m proud of how far we’ve come as a team and this season has been unforgettable. I’ll always remember the bond I’ve built with the guys. It’s tough to end on a loss, but I know we’ve laid a strong foundation for the future.” This year’s appearance in the State tournament marks their third trip in the past four years. The Mustangs finished their season with a record of 19-17 on the season.
