Shelby Jenkins, Staff Writer
When she’s not in practice for volleyball, softball, or track, writing Bible verses on a canvas, or being involved in her church’s youth ministry, Sophomore Shelby Jenkins is an honest and outgoing person. This is her third year at MCA and her first year on the Mane Edition staff. Her favorite memory at MCA was the 2016 retreat when she made so many fantastic memories going the lake, and running around with everyone in the pouring rain. She is artistic and enjoys lettering and painting on canvas’ for her friends and family. She is the oldest of five siblings and wants to be in ministry in college and in the future. Shelby has always been involved in sports and loves to become a better athlete every day. She’s middle in volleyball, a third baseman in softball, and throws the shotput and discus in track. Shelby is very involved in her youth ministry and also leads a weekly Bible study in her grade. Her favorite Bible verse is:
“Wait for the Lord, be strong, and let your heart take courage as you wait on the Lord.” – Psalm 27:14
